Stanton works with local partners to complete park repairs at Maddies Park
Stanton, Michigan, OCT. 10, 2019 – The city of Stanton is celebrating improvements made to Maddies Park over the past year. Specifically, the Maddies House playground structure had been neglected due to financial constraints was in dire condition and needed rehab work.
“Maddies Park is vital to the families and visitors of this community,” said Mayor Lori Williams. “I am thankful for the volunteers and staff and contractors that have reached out to lend a hand to help maintain our park infrastructure.”
The recent improvements to Maddies Park include a new roof and slide, and a fresh coat of paint. Last fall, members of Stanton Rotary volunteered to paint the structure, then a new slide was purchased by the Trimper family and installed by city workers, and Brayton Homes LLC of Greenville just recently installed a new roof on Maddies House.
“This is only the beginning, Stanton City Commission leadership will seek to invest even more in local recreation through grant opportunities, donations and other financial means,” said Williams. If anyone is interested in volunteering to help maintain our parks, call (989) 831-4440.
The City of Stanton asks park visitors to be respectful and refrain from climbing on the playhouse roof, defacing, or damaging any piece of park equipment.
