Planning Commission Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Planning Commission include: Prepare and adopt the City Master Plan, prepare the original Zoning Ordinance including the text and map showing the proposed zoning district boundaries, forward recommendation to the City Commission, which ultimately adopts the Ordinance; Advise City Commission on future amendments, changes, or additions to the Zoning Ordinance; and, Review site plans, special land use requests, and planned unit developments for compliance with the Zoning Ordinance.
The Planning Commission is consists of seven (7) members appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of a majority of the City Commission.
