NOTICE OF ELECTRONIC PUBLIC HEARING AND SPECIAL MEETING OF THE STANTON PLANNING COMMISSION

Reason for Electronic Meeting
To mitigate the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), protect the public health, and provide essential protections to vulnerable persons, it is imperative that all persons take steps to limit in-person contact. These critical mitigation measures include social distancing and limiting the number of people interacting at public gatherings. The City of Stanton must continue to conduct public business, including actions to respond to COVID-19, and the general public must be able to continue to participate in government decision making without unduly compromising public health, safety and welfare.
Reason for Public Hearing
To discuss the revised marihuana zoning ordinance. AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 2, SECTION 2.14 ENTITLED “DEFINITIONS- M;” AMEND CHAPTER 2, SECTION 2. ENTITLED “DEFINITIONS – P;” ENACT CHAPTER 3, SECTION 3.40 ENTITLED “MARIHUANA;” AMENDED CHAPTER 8, SECTION 8.03 ENTITLED “SPECIAL LAND USES” FOR THE C-1 CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT; AMENED CHAPTER 9, SECTION 9.03 ENTITLED “SPECIAL LAND USES” FOR THE C-2 GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; AMEND CHAPTER 11, SECTION 11.03 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF STANTON ENTITLED “SPECIAL LAND USES” FOR THE I INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT; AND TO AMEND CHAPTER 14, SECTION 14.11 ENTITLED “STANDARDS FOR SPECIFIC SPECIAL LAND USES” OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF STANTON.
