STANTON – Stanton resident Lillian Hansen does it every year.
At age 96 she registers everyone in for another class reunion at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Stanton, celebrating graduation from Stanton High School long ago.
On Saturday, she celebrated her 78th reunion.
The high school no longer stands, consolidated into Central Montcalm High School years ago. But as a graduate in 1933 Hansen meets with other graduates decades apart from herself, celebrating an event they all can share.
“I just love seeing everyone again,” Hansen said of the annual reunion. “We may not have graduated the same year, some of us more than 30 years apart, but we all can say we went to Stanton High School.”
She has fond memories of the school and her years in the classroom.
“I can remember it was a brick building – two stories, with a basement,” Hansen said. “My favorite subject was English.”
