DDA Members Needed
The City’s Downtown Development Authority is searching for TWO (2) new members to join the board. We meet the first Tuesday of each month at 8:30 AM at City Hall.
Our Mission: The Authority’s mission is to halt property value deterioration and increase property tax valuation where possible in the Downtown District by the promotion of economic growth.
Examples of what we do:
- Organize events such as Sidewalk Sales, Girls Day Out, Tree Lighting Ceremony
- Fundraise to beautify downtown such as adding murals, bike racks, restoring downtown benches
- Encourage positive activity in the downtown area through things like the Downtown Window Display Contest
- Promote and support our Downtown Businesses
Qualifications to be a member:
- Have an interest in a property located in the downtown district (owner of a business, employee of a business, etc.)
- Be a resident of the the downtown district
- One of these seats can also be filled by an at large member (does not meet the qualifications)
- Be available to attend the monthly meetings
